Olivia Nicastro is the Director of an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Critical Care Fellowship at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. In her role, she has restructured the APP Fellowship program with curriculum, didactic days, evaluations, feedback forms, and ultrasound curriculum.
Prior to Robert Wood Johnson, Olivia worked at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Montefiore’s Emergency Department (290,000 visits a year) in New York and University Hospital Trauma in New Jersey.
During her 10 years in critical care, she has brought her enthusiasm in assisting others to advance their knowledge in the field of medicine. Olivia has been a mentor and advocate for recent graduate Nurse Practitioners with an eagerness to maintain a high level of practice. Seeking out more modern ways of teaching Olivia enrolled at the University of Northern Colorado for a Ph.D. in Nursing education where she is expected to graduate in 2023. She earned her bachelor's and master's degrees at Columbia University School of Nursing. When Olivia is not at work, you can find her camping, knitting, and playing tag with her husband and two children Jack and Adelle.
