I am Lamar University- Beaumont alumni, receiving a Bachelor of Science Nursing degree in 1998. I am a member of Sigma Theta Tau International, Kappa Kappa Chapter; Alpha Lamda Rho Port Arthur Chapter, American Nurses Association, and the Texas Nurses Association (TNA). My areas of expertise includes critical care, post anesthesia care unit, management, and nursing education. I began pursuing my Masters degree in June 2015 at Grand Canyon University and graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing with an Emphasis in Nursing Education with a 4.0 GPA in January 2017.
I have been a clinical educator at CHRISTUS Southeast Texas Hospital for 10 years. I chose to work within the CHRISTUS Health System because their mission and vision aligns with my faith, values, and cultural practices. With CHRISTUS having sites internationally and advancing my education, CHRISTUS has been able to offer me opportunities for professional growth while continuing to extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ.
My current duties include but not limited to: Medical-Surgical Service Line Educator, Nurse Residency Program Director, preceptor program coordinator and facilitator, former Primary TNA Nurse Planner for our Approved Provider Unit, nurse residency recruiter in partnership with Talent Acquisition, BLS/ACLS/PALS Instructor, CMS and Joint Commission survey liaison, and member of the Magnet writing team. Recently, I was a student in the CHRISTUS Health Mentorship Program and graduated in January 2018.
