I am the Director of Nursing Workforce Transitions at Sharp HealthCare where I oversee the system NRP comprised of six hospitals. Previously, I managed the Nurse Residency Program at Sharp Memorial Hospital for nine years. I work closely with the practice setting coordinators and the VP of the Caster Nursing Institute.
Additionally, for the past nine years, I have served as an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of San Diego in their Masters Entry in Nursing and Executive Nurse Leader programs. I teach Health Care Leadership, Conceptual Basis of Professional Nursing Practice, Leadership Theory and Practice (Practicum), and Advanced Generalist Internship.
I hold a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Nursing from San Diego State University and a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing from the University of San Diego. I am board certified as a nurse executive and nursing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. I have completed three IRB approved studies: Leadership Styles and Nurse Job Satisfaction, Predictors of Septic Patient Outcomes, and New Graduate Nurses' Entry into Professional Practice (ongoing).
When not at work, I enjoy competitive tennis and playing doubles for a local women's team. I also love succulents and have over 50 varieties in my yard!
