Bio

My name is Alicia Dougherty (maiden name Miller) and I am the new Nurse Residency Program Coordinator here at Fox Chase Cancer Center.  I was nurse resident here back in 2013 and let me tell you- this program has come a long way since then!

I've spent the last 10 years working overnight/weekends on our surgical oncology unit.  During this time, I received my MSN from Capella University, allowing me to work as a clinical instructor for my alma mater Drexel University. I am now transitioning into this role and couldn't be more excited!  My passion for education is surreal, and a top goal of mine is to watch our current and new nurses thrive!

I am a mother of three:) I have an 8-year-old boy who eats, sleeps and breathes basketball, a 5-year-old girl who likes crop-tops and bell bottoms, and a 3-year-old girl who wants to be a lion when she grows up<3

My nursing journey has shown me how precious time is, and how important the right tools and resources are in making it possible to provide the best care possible.  Whether in clinical, in the hospital, or at home, I take pride in the passion I have to be the best I can be in order to help others do the same.

I look forward to being in this community!
